Multivitamins and minerals for everyone

In the field of natural products, despite the fact that some are trying to make a merciless war on them, it happens to those who put these products forward, to know on occasion, certain victories.

So, some time ago, the Journal of the American Medical Association adopted a new policy with respect to vitamin and of mineral multiple. Previously, JAMA argued that these supplements were not necessary because the current diet provided the body with all the minerals and vitamins it might need. But now the JAMA changes his shoulder rifle. He now argues that everyone should take a multiple vitamin and mineral supplement every day.

Why this radical change ? Because an analysis of different research demonstrates the importance of vitamin and mineral. It was researchers from Harvard University who made this analysis. They came to the conclusion that vitamins and minerals can prevent several diseases that are currently encountered on a large scale. This is in particular the case of antioxidants, more particularly the beta-carotene, vitamin C and E. It has been clearly shown that a lack of these nutrients increases the risk of heart disease and cancer.

It has also been shown that a deficiency in three of the B vitamins, folic acid (B9), the vitamin B6 and the B12 increased the risk of heart disease. These three vitamins neutralize homocysteine, an intermediate amino acid that promotes artery obstruction.

It is also known that a deficiency of folic acid increases the risk of congenital malformation of the embryo at the level of the neural tube. All women who are of childbearing age should ensure a daily intake of folic acid. It is also known that a lack of vitamin D can lead to osteoporosis. The same applies to a lack of calcium or magnesium.

In front of all these situations, it is obvious that regular consumption of a vitamin and mineral supplement is necessary for the maintenance of good health.
