Learn how to take care of yourself with our dear Dr. Naturel, Naturist Naturopath.

The beginning of summer, a new rhythm, longer, fuller days... A lot of changes that can affect the body and make you feel unusually tired.

So what can you do to regain your energy and enjoy the summer season to the full? Our favorite doctor tells you all about it.

Am I lacking energy?

Lack of energy can manifest itself in different ways and the signs can vary, but the most common are :

  • Constant fatigue
  • excessive daytime sleepiness
  • lack of motivation
  • Decreased concentration
  • Low physical stamina
  • Unstable mood
  • Stress management difficulties
  • Altered sleep patterns

6 things you can do to regain your energy:

1. Sleep between 7 and 9 hours a night

Sleep is the basis of good energy levels. Going to bed an hour earlier than usual can have a positive impact on how you feel in the morning. We recommend avoiding exposure to screens for at least an hour before bedtime to promote restful sleep. By adopting these measures, it is possible to improve sleep quality and enjoy the benefits of a good night's rest.

2. Drink plenty of water

The first symptom of dehydration is fatigue. To combat this sensation, we recommend drinking a large glass of water rather than a cup of coffee. We recommend aiming for 6 to 8 glasses of water a day to ensure adequate hydration.

3. Do some physical activity every day

A number of studies have shown that regular exercise boosts energy levels and reduces fatigue. Whether you enjoy walking, cycling, swimming or any other type of physical activity, we recommend that you get moving for at least 30 minutes a day.

4. Eat a full breakfast

Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day. It is recommended to eat protein to maintain a good level of physical and mental energy at least until dinner. Protein foods such as eggs, cheese and Greek yogurt are perfect options for getting the day off to a good start. It's also a good idea to add fruit and cereal products for a balanced breakfast.

5. Tryaromatherapy

Certain essential oils are renowned for their stimulating and energizing properties, which can help combat fatigue. These include peppermint, lemon and rosemary. They have stimulating properties and tremendous energizing power.

6. Take vitamin supplements

Vitamins can give the body a little boost to help it regain energy, strength and vitality!

Vitamins B, C, D, E... Which of the many vitamins are really good to take when you're feeling tired?

Vitamin B or the Energy vitamin

Group B vitamins play a very important role in the nervous system and energy. They help produce energy for the body, stimulate the intellect and improve physical performance.

You'll find all the vitamins you need to fight fatigue naturally in our Naturiste B Complex .

It includes vitamin B1, which helps reduce stress, often a source of fatigue. Vitamin B2 helps the body absorb nutrients, converting them into energy. Vitamin B5 contributes to a healthy metabolism and supports intellectual performance. Vitamin B12, also essential for combating fatigue, is especially important for people on a vegetarian or vegan diet, as it is mainly found in animal products.

Vitamin C

This is THE essential vitamin you need to stay in shape! With its real name of ascorbic acid, vitamin C is an essential nutrient for our bodies. It boosts energy, vitality and resistance to overwork, fatigue and convalescence, but that's not all. It is also useful for defending the immune system, which is put to the test in Canadian winters, as well as reducing the severity of allergies, promoting the assimilation of iron and calcium from food, and accelerating wound healing.

An adult's daily vitamin C requirement is 100mg. These requirements are increased by stress and smoking. It is also advisable to supplement in the event of colds, asthma, intensive exercise, infectious diseases, cancer or regular treatment with antidepressants.

Did you know? A single cigarette destroys 25 mg of vitamin C.

Are there any other ingredients that can help counteract feelings of fatigue?

In addition to vitamins B and C, other equally essential active ingredients can be useful when supplemented as needed:

A trace element involved in over 300 chemical reactions in your body, including energy production. According to some studies, women are even more prone to magnesium deficiency due to hormonal fluctuations, menstruation and/or pregnancy.
