Essential oils for the Holidays

Essential oils are known to stimulate good humor and warm feelings. So what better way to get us in the Christmas spirit than with festive scents? If you're like us and are (already) looking forward to Christmas, this article is for you!

Pine essential oil

Pine essential oil is derived from the needles of the pine tree, which is commonly known as the traditional Christmas tree. The scent of pine essential oil is known to have a clarifying, stimulating and invigorating effect.

Used in aromatherapy applications, pine essential oil positively impacts mood by freeing the mind of stress, energizing the body to help eliminate fatigue, improving concentration and promoting a positive outlook.

Cinnamon essential oil

The smell of cinnamon is spicy, sweet and, for many, filled with happy memories of delicious food and cozy days. Cinnamon oil is prized for its lush scent. It is also linked to several health and beauty benefits.

Used in aromatherapy, cinnamon bark essential oil helps to relax, manage stressful feelings and improve mood. It also warms the spirit and has a cleansing quality that helps clear the airways and promote deep breathing.

Rosemary essential oil

Used in aromatherapy, rosemary oil helps reduce stress levels and nervous tension, stimulate mental activity, encourage clarity and insight, relieve fatigue and support respiratory function. It is used to improve alertness, eliminate negative moods, and increase information retention by promoting focus.

The scent of rosemary essential oil stimulates appetite (perfect for mega holiday meals!) and is also known to reduce levels of harmful stress hormones that are released during tense experiences. Rosemary oil inhalation boosts the immune system by stimulating internal antioxidant activity, which in turn fights off ailments caused by free radicals, and it relieves throat and nasal congestion by clearing the airways.

Peppermint essential oil

Peppermint essential oil is known for its mood benefits. It helps relieve stress and anxiety and creates a happy mood. It also creates a sense of nostalgia for the Christmas mornings of our childhood, filled with peppermint candy canes and beautifully lit Christmas trees!

So while we all wait patiently for Christmas to arrive, let's fill our space with the scent of happiness and be merry until the big day!
